Informations
Product description
The Goldring E4 sits as the flagship model in Goldring’s entry-level E Series line of moving magnet (MM) phono cartridges. It targets listeners looking for an accessible high-performance upgrade for entry-to-midrange turntables without moving into the higher price brackets of Moving Coil (MC) designs.
Key Technical Features
-
Nude Super-Elliptical Stylus: Unlike cheaper "bonded" styli where a diamond tip is glued to a metal shank, the E4 uses a single, solid piece of diamond cut into a fine profile. This design lowers the tip mass, improving tracking and high-frequency detail retrieval.
- Hollow Aluminium Cantilever: Reduces overall effective mass, allowing the stylus to react rapidly to dense micro-groove modulations with lower tracking distortion.
- Magnetic Duplex Technology™: Uses two small, light magnets angled to match the record groove walls rather than a single large magnet. This minimizes crosstalk between channels and improves stereo separation and soundstaging.
- Factory-Adjusted Azimuth: Built with internal micro-adjustment capabilities during manufacturing to guarantee accurate channel balance right out of the box, which is particularly helpful on turntables lacking tonearm azimuth controls.
