The Signature Sound: "The Grado House Sound"
The SR60x is famous for being bright, energetic, and forward. It doesn't hide anything.
Grado is famously stubborn about their design. They’ve looked roughly the same since the 1950s.
-
Retro Aesthetic: They look like something a radio operator would have worn in WWII. It’s a love-it-or-hate-it "utility" vibe.
-
The "x" Driver: This fourth-generation driver features a more powerful magnetic circuit and a re-engineered diaphragm, which makes them easier to drive (meaning they sound great even plugged directly into a phone or laptop).
-
The Cable: The "x" series introduced a much thicker, braided cable. It’s very durable but can be a bit stiff and heavy.
-
Comfort: They are "on-ear" (supra-aural) rather than "over-ear." The foam pads (S-Cushions) are breathable but can feel a bit scratchy until they are "broken in."
