Product description
Optimized for use with High/Variable-Current components (power conditioners, power amplifiers, receivers, integrated amplifiers, powered subwoofers, powered speakers), Hurricane High-Current AC cable features Solid Perfect-Surface Copper+ (PSC+) conductors, 100% Silver drain wires, 72v Dielectric-Bias System (DBS), ZERO-Tech for uncompressed current transfer, and RF/ND-Tech to cancel induced RF-noise.
Core Technologies
-
Solid Perfect-Surface Copper+ (PSC+): Unlike standard cables that use stranded copper, the Hurricane uses solid-core conductors. This prevents "strand interaction," which AudioQuest claims is a major source of distortion. The PSC+ metal has an ultra-smooth surface to minimize grain-boundary interference.
- Ground Noise-Dissipation (GND): This patented technology uses a phase-canceling array to prevent radio-frequency (RF) noise from entering the audio components through the ground wire.
- 72V Dielectric-Bias System (DBS): You’ll notice a battery pack attached to the cable. This applies a constant DC voltage to the insulation (dielectric). By polarizing the molecules in the insulation, it prevents them from absorbing and releasing energy into the signal, which helps "time-align" the audio and reduces "smearing."
- ZERO Characteristic Impedance: The cable is designed to have no characteristic impedance between 50Hz and 1MHz. This allows for uncompressed current transfer, ensuring that when an amplifier needs a sudden burst of power for a deep bass note or orchestral swell, the cable doesn't "choke" the flow.
