Key Design Innovations
The 5020 introduces several technical features borrowed from Q Acoustics' higher-end models to deliver a more refined sound:
- C³ Continuous Curved Cone™: This is the standout feature. The 5-inch mid/bass driver has a single, smooth curve without a traditional dust cap. This combines the punchy bass of a straight cone with the smooth high-end control of a flared cone, making it easier for the woofer to hand off sound to the tweeter.
- Decoupled Tweeter: The 1-inch tweeter is "floating"—it’s hermetically sealed and mechanically isolated from the front baffle. This prevents the vibrations from the bass driver from muddying the high-frequency details.
- P2P™ (Point to Point) Bracing: Internal bracing is placed precisely where the cabinet is most likely to vibrate. This stiffens the enclosure to reduce "cabinet talk," resulting in a cleaner stereo image.
