AudioQuest's budget-friendly speaker cable, Rocket 33, doesn't compromise audio excellence. With a unique blend of LGC and PSC Copper conductors in a new geometry, it delivers a smooth, open sound and impressive dynamic range.
Core Technology & Build
AudioQuest uses several proprietary technologies in the Rocket 33 to maintain signal integrity:
- Mixed Metal Conductors: It uses a combination of Long-Grain Copper (LGC) and Perfect-Surface Copper (PSC). The PSC has an incredibly smooth surface to reduce the "harshness" caused by grain boundaries in the metal, while the LGC keeps the price more accessible.
- Double Star-Quad Geometry: The internal layout of the wires is designed to reduce interference. This geometry balances the relationship between conductors, which AudioQuest claims improves dynamic contrast and clarity compared to parallel wiring.
- Carbon-Based Noise Dissipation: The negative conductors are insulated with carbon-loaded polyethylene. This acts as a shield to "trap" radio-frequency (RF) interference before it can get back into your amplifier and muddy the sound.
- Solid Conductors: Unlike standard stranded wire, the Rocket 33 uses solid cores to prevent "strand interaction," which is a common source of distortion in audio cables.
