Informations
Product description
The Atoll AM400 EVO (Evolution) is the flagship stereo power amplifier from French high-end audio manufacturer Atoll Electronique. Hand-built in Brécey, Normandy, it succeeds the previous AM400 / AM400 Signature generation, introducing upgraded power delivery, redesigned discrete circuitry, and improved load tolerance.
Core Architecture & Circuit Design
-
MOSFET Output Stages: Employs 8 discrete MOSFET transistors per channel (4 complementary pairs). MOSFETs give the AM400 EVO a characteristic blend of tube-like midrange warmth and solid-state speed and transient attack.
-
Insensitive to Capacitive Loads: The discrete audio stages have been specifically re-engineered to remain stable and neutral regardless of complex speaker crossovers or high capacitive speaker cables.
-
Balanced Dual-Mono Layout: The circuit uses a fully symmetrical dual-mono differential topology with native, balanced XLR signal routing.
-
Voltage Stability: Bipolar transistors and LED-based current sources are implemented to keep rail voltages strictly stabilized under demanding dynamic peaks.
