The AudioQuest Pegasus is a high-end analog interconnect cable that belongs to AudioQuest's "Mythical Horses" series. Positioned just above the Black Beauty and below the "Mythical Creatures" (ThunderBird, FireBird, and Dragon), it is designed to bring flagship-level noise dissipation technology to a more accessible price point.
Core Technologies
The Pegasus is designed to be "invisible" to the audio signal, minimizing the cable’s characteristic impedance to prevent distortion and compression.
- ZERO-Tech (No Characteristic Impedance): This is the cable's standout feature. By eliminating the electrostatic field between conductors, it allows for uncompressed transients and linear radio-frequency (RF) noise dissipation.
- Solid Perfect-Surface Copper+ (PSC+): It uses high-purity solid-core conductors. The "Perfect-Surface" refers to a proprietary processing technique that smooths the conductor surface, reducing the harshness and distortion often caused by grain boundaries in standard copper.
- 72V Dielectric-Bias System (DBS): You’ll notice a small battery pack attached to the cable. This creates a stable electrostatic field that "polarizes" the insulation, significantly reducing energy storage and non-linear time delays, which results in a "blacker" (quieter) background.
- Level 6 Noise-Dissipation: It uses a sophisticated Carbon/Graphene Mesh-Network and direction-controlled conductors to drain RF noise away from the signal.
