Key Technical Features
The NRG-Z3 stands out due to its specific metal quality and proprietary noise-rejection technologies.
- Perfect-Surface Copper (PSC): Unlike lower models that use Long-Grain Copper (LGC), the Z3 uses PSC. This metal is processed to have an incredibly smooth surface, which reduces distortion caused by the "grain boundaries" found in standard copper conductors.
- Semi-Solid Concentric Conductors: The strands within the cable are packed more tightly and never change position. This prevents "strand-interaction distortion," a common issue in standard AC cords where electrical signals jump between strands as they twist.
- ZERO-Tech (No Characteristic Impedance): Most power cables compress or "choke" the high-current transients that an amplifier needs during a musical peak. ZERO-Tech allows for uncompressed current transfer, making the sound feel more dynamic and "open."
- Ground-Noise Dissipation (GND): This patented technology uses a common-mode phase-cancelling array to drain radio-frequency (RF) noise away from the system. It prevents the ground wire from acting like an antenna that picks up interference from Wi-Fi and cell signals.
- Direction-Controlled Conductors: AudioQuest listens to every batch of metal to determine its grain direction, ensuring that noise is drained away from the sensitive electronics.
