Forest Coax features high-purity Solid 0.5% Silver conductors and a Metal-Layer Noise-Dissipation system for the most efficient dissipation of radio-frequency noise.
Core Specifications
-
Conductors: Solid 0.5% Silver. While the core is Long-Grain Copper (LGC), it is plated with a layer of silver. Since high-frequency digital signals travel primarily on the surface of a conductor (the "skin effect"), the silver layer provides performance close to a solid silver cable at a much lower price.
- Insulation: Hard-Cell Foam (HCF). This nitrogen-injected material creates air pockets (air absorbs almost no energy) and provides the structural rigidity needed to maintain a constant 75 Ohm impedance across the entire length of the cable.
- Shielding: 100% coverage using a combination of Foil and Tinned Braid. This is critical because the shield in a coax cable also acts as the signal return path.
- Terminations: Cold-Welded, Gold-Plated RCA. AudioQuest uses a high-pressure "cold-weld" process instead of solder to avoid introducing a different metal that could cause signal distortion.
