Informations
Product description
The Goldring 1022GX is a highly regarded moving magnet (MM) phono cartridge positioned right near the top of Goldring’s classic 1000-series lineup. It is widely celebrated among audiophiles for bridging the gap between high-output MM convenience and the detail retrieval typical of low-output moving coil (MC) designs.
Standout Features & Design
-
Vital PH / Gyger I Stylus: The defining feature of the 1022GX is its nude fine-line diamond stylus. It has a very low tip mass and a narrow profile that tracks deep inside the record groove. This retrieves micro-details and high-frequency content with minimal distortion while reducing record wear compared to cheaper elliptical options.
- Ultra-Rigid Pocan Body: The body uses a dense, non-resonant glass-reinforced polymer called Pocan. This provides a firm structural foundation, eliminating unwanted vibrations that could color the signal.
- Shared Body / Simple Upgrade Path: All cartridges in the Goldring 1000 series (1006, 1012GX, 1022GX, 1042) use the exact same generator body. If you own a 1022GX, you can upgrade it to the flagship 1042 simply by swapping the stylus assembly (to the D42 stylus) without dismounting the cartridge.
