Informations
Product description
The Goldring E3 is a moving magnet (MM) phono cartridge designed as an accessible upgrade for entry-level and mid-range turntables. Positioned at the top of Goldring’s entry-level "E Series" (above the E1 and E2), it is widely regarded by audiophiles for punchy dynamic performance, punch-above-its-weight clarity, and balanced soundstage.
Key Features & Design
-
Duex Magnet Technology: Uses a dual-magnet setup arranged in a "V" shape rather than a single large magnet. This design mirrors the structure of a record cutter head, improving channel separation and stereo imaging.
- Super-Elliptical Stylus: Features a bonded 0.3 x 0.7 mil super-elliptical diamond tip. Compared to standard spherical or wider elliptical styli, this profile tracks high frequencies deeper in the groove, reducing inner-groove distortion and vocal sibilance.
- Aluminum Cantilever: Upgrades from the carbon-reinforced ABS used in the entry E1 model to an aluminum cantilever for higher rigidity and transient accuracy.
- Threaded Mounting Inserts: Eliminates the frustration of tiny loose nuts; screws thread directly into the top of the cartridge body for straightforward mounting.
