Grado Gold4

The Grado Gold4 is the flagship phono cartridge in Grado Labs' updated Prestige Series 4. Built by hand in Brooklyn, NY, it sits above the Silver4, Red4, Green4, and Black4.

Because Grado hand-selects the Gold models from the production line based on the tightest electrical and tolerance test specifications (only ~5% of the yield meets the Gold benchmark), it boasts the highest channel separation and lowest distortion in the series.

Key Features & Technology

• Moving Iron Architecture: Utilizes Grado's patented Flux-Bridger principle. Keeping the internal coils fixed allows for an extremely low-mass moving system, translating to quick transient response and detail without requiring an MC preamp setup.

• OTL Cantilever: Uses an Optimized Transmission Line 4-piece cantilever designed to eliminate unwanted internal resonances.
• Internal Wiring & Treatment: Internal coils are wired using 5N Ultra-High Purity OCC copper, alongside cryogenic treatment and internal damping to reduce electrical distortion and microphonics.
• User-Replaceable Stylus: Unlike most Moving Coil cartridges, the stylus assembly is user-replaceable and backward/forward compatible across the entire Prestige lineup.
