Informations
Product description
The Grado Opus4 is the entry-level phono cartridge in Grado Labs' mid-tier Timbre Series. Hand-built in Brooklyn, NY, it serves as the bridge between Grado’s entry-level plastic-bodied Prestige line and their higher-end audiophile wood-body cartridges.
Key Features & Construction
-
Moving Iron (MI) Generator: Utilizes Grado's flux-bridger design. This offers the low effective moving mass and quick transient response of Moving Coil (MC) designs, but with higher output and lower fragility.
- American Maple Housing: Unlike plastic entry-level cartridges, the Opus4 uses a thermally aged North American Maple wood body to dampen internal resonances and deliver a warmer, more musical sound profile.
- 3-Piece OTL Cantilever & Elliptical Diamond: Uses an aluminum Optimized Tip-to-Link (OTL) cantilever paired with a bonded elliptical diamond stylus to minimize mechanical noise and track record grooves reliably.
- OCC Copper Coils: High-purity 5N Oxygen-Free Continuous Cast copper wiring is used in the generator coils to ensure a clean, detailed signal path.
