The Grado Platinum4 is the entry-level model in Grado’s mid-tier Timbre Series of phono cartridges. Handcrafted in Brooklyn, New York, it combines Grado’s proprietary Moving Iron architecture with a resonant-controlled wooden body.

Moving Iron (MI) Design: Uses Grado's patented flux-bridger principle. It keeps the internal coils fixed while moving a tiny iron element, yielding a low effective tip mass similar to Moving Coil (MC) designs, but without the extreme fragility.
- Mediterranean Olive Wood Body: Housed in a reshaped olive wood body designed to damp internal resonances and improve cantilever visibility during alignment.
- Internal Wiring & Tuning: Features 4-piece OTL (Optimized Transmission Line) cantilever technology with ultra-high purity 6N OCC copper wire, internal damping, and cryogenic treatment.
- Stylus & Cantilever: Fitted with an elliptical diamond on a machined aluminum cantilever.
