Informations
Product description
The Grado Statement4 is a high-end, low-output Moving Iron (MI) phono cartridge that serves as the entry point to Grado’s flagship Lineage Series. Hand-assembled and voiced at Grado's facility in Brooklyn, New York, it blends traditional craftsmanship with precision materials to deliver high detail retrieval, speed, and a rich, natural sound.
Core Design Highlights
-
Flux-Bridger Moving Iron System: Unlike traditional Moving Magnet (MM) or Moving Coil (MC) designs, Grado’s flux-bridger system uses a lightweight iron element as the moving component. This keeps effective tip mass low—giving it the quick transient response of high-end MC cartridges while maintaining structural stability.
- Boron & Shibata Combination: The nude Shibata diamond profile ensures deep, precise groove tracking across high frequencies, while the ultra-rigid machined boron cantilever quickly transmits vibrations to the generator without smearing micro-details.
- Brazilian Ebony Body: The dense hardwood body serves two purposes: it dampens unwanted mechanical micro-vibrations and imparts Grado's signature organic, warm mid-range tone.
- 1.0mV Low Output: Unlike standard MM cartridges, the 1.0mV output requires a phono preamplifier with medium-to-high gain (typically an MC-capable stage or a flexible adjustable phono stage) to achieve proper drive and low noise floor.
