Core Technologies & Build
The Greyhound uses several of AudioQuest’s signature engineering philosophies to minimize distortion and noise:
- 0.5% Silver Conductors: The cable uses solid long-grain copper (LGC) plated with a thin layer of high-purity silver. Since high-frequency signals (which define the "snap" and "attack" of bass) travel mostly on the surface, this provides a performance boost similar to solid silver at a much lower cost.
- Metal-Layer Noise-Dissipation (NDS): This system "shields the shield," preventing radio-frequency interference (RFI) from reaching the ground plane of your equipment, which helps maintain a lower noise floor.
- Foamed-Polyethylene Insulation: Air-filled insulation is used because air absorbs almost no energy. This prevents the "smearing" effect where insulation stores and then releases energy back into the signal.
