Informations
Product description
The Hegel A200 (nicknamed "The Classic") is a high-end, fully analog integrated amplifier. The A200 strips away all digital circuitry to focus strictly on a pure, dedicated analog signal path. It is geared toward audiophiles who already own high-end external sources—such as stand-alone DACs, dedicated streamers, high-end turntables, or CD players.
Key Specifications & Architecture
-
Power Output: 150 watts per channel into 8 ohms (Class A/B). It handles demanding speaker loads down to 2 ohms with high stability
- Topology: Dual-mono design, essentially operating as two separate monoblock amplifiers in a single chassis to maximize channel separation and soundstage depth.
- Preamplifier: Features the precision volume attenuator derived from Hegel’s flagship reference P30A preamplifier.
- SoundEngine2: Uses Hegel’s patented real-time distortion-canceling technology, resulting in a damping factor exceeding 4000 for tight, highly controlled bass response.
Connectivity & Inputs
Because it contains zero digital conversion components, the back panel is entirely dedicated to high-quality analog connections:
- Balanced Inputs: 2 pairs of XLR inputs.
- Unbalanced Inputs: 2 pairs of RCA line-level inputs.
- Phono Stage: Built-in Moving Magnet (MM) phono stage based on Hegel’s standalone V10 phono preamp.
- Pre-Outputs: Both fixed and variable RCA outputs (ideal for connecting subwoofers or external power amps).
- Headphone Jack: Dedicated high-grade front-panel headphone output.
