The KEF Kube 10 MIE is a 10-inch active subwoofer released in early 2024 as part of KEF’s updated "Music Integrity Engine" (MIE) lineup. It is designed as a mid-sized, versatile "all-rounder" that balances power for home theaters with the speed and accuracy required for high-fidelity music.

Key Features & Technology

  • Music Integrity Engine (MIE): This is KEF’s proprietary DSP (Digital Signal Processing). It essentially acts as the "brain" of the sub, ensuring the amplifier and driver work in perfect harmony to reduce distortion and improve timing.

  • iBX (Intelligent Bass Extension): A feature within the MIE that analyzes your input signal and makes micro-adjustments to the driver. This allows the sub to play deeper and louder while staying "tight" and not becoming "boomy."

  • Placement-Dependent EQ: On the back panel, there is a toggle for three EQ presets: Room, Wall, and Corner. This compensates for the natural bass "bloom" that happens when you place a sub near a wall or in a corner.

  • SmartConnect: Intelligent inputs that automatically detect whether you are using a mono or stereo signal and adjust the volume gain accordingly.

  • Wireless Ready: It includes a dedicated expansion port for the KEF KW1 wireless adapter kit, allowing you to place it anywhere without running long RCA cables.
