Product Description

The gold standard of HiFi, condensed.

The Reference 3 Meta is a floorstanding powerhouse designed to deliver sensational audio to any audience. It features KEF’s latest 12th generation Uni-Q® driver with MAT™— a technological breakthrough that pulls you deep into the heart of the performance.

The defining feature of this model is Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MAT™). This is a complex, maze-like disk placed behind the tweeter that absorbs 99% of unwanted sound energy from the rear of the driver. By eliminating this "back-wave" distortion, the speaker achieves a significantly cleaner, more natural high-frequency response than the previous non-Meta version.

12th Generation Uni-Q® Driver: This signature KEF array places the tweeter in the acoustic center of the midrange cone. This "single point source" ensures that sound reaches your ears at the same time, creating a coherent and holographic stereo image.

Shadow Flare: A specially designed transition surface around the Uni-Q array that reduces cabinet diffraction, preventing high-frequency energy from "smearing" at the edges of the speaker.

Decoupled Chassis: The midrange and tweeter motors are decoupled from the cabinet using a flexible structure. This prevents driver vibrations from coloring the cabinet sound.

Flexible Port Technology: The speaker features rear-firing ports that come with two different lengths of sleeves (long and short). This allows you to "tune" the bass response to your specific room—short ports for more punch in small rooms, or long ports for deeper extension in larger spaces.
