Beryllium-Copper Base Metal: Most standard outlets use brass or high-purity copper. AudioQuest uses Beryllium-Copper because it offers far superior "spring tension." This ensures that when you plug in a heavy power cord, the outlet maintains a massive, high-pressure contact over time without loosening.
- Hanging-Silver Plating: The contact surfaces are plated with "hanging silver." Unlike conventional plating which often uses a layer of nickel (which can be magnetically distributive), hanging silver is applied directly to the metal.
