Can a speaker cable sound great, be practical and easy to use, be sexy and be easily affordable? Yes!
Q2's inner Long-Grain Copper (LGC) conductor is surrounded by an outer spiral of 11 strands of LGC. The result is AQ's new flexible Solid+ Concentric Conductor, with sound quality even closer to that of an ideal solid conductor and yet big enough to make a great cable with only two simple-to-prepare conductors. Then, the two conductors (+ and -) are spiraled for minimum inductance (inductance makes sound seem out of focus), and maximum clarity and dynamics...and then this ideal cable is given a sexy, square, deep black outer jacket.
Key Technologies
-
Solid+ Concentric Long-Grain Copper (LGC): Most inexpensive cables use many small strands of copper twisted together, which can cause magnetic interaction and distortion. The Q2 uses a "Solid+" design: a single larger LGC center conductor surrounded by 11 smaller strands. This mimics the performance of a solid-core cable (clearer sound) while remaining flexible like a stranded one.
-
Low-Inductance Geometry: The two main conductors (positive and negative) are spiraled around each other. This twisted-pair geometry reduces inductance, which helps maintain high-frequency detail and focus.
-
Long-Grain Copper (LGC): Compared to standard oxygen-free copper (OFC), LGC has fewer impurities and fewer internal grain boundaries, leading to a smoother, more natural sound.
