Core Design & Technology
-
Skeletal Plinth: The plinth is made from Tancast 8 polyurethane foam core, sandwiched between two layers of High-Pressure Laminate (HPL). It is incredibly thin and rigid, weighing 30% less than the previous RP10.
- Ceramic Double Bracing: It is the first production Rega to use a ceramic top brace. This "stressed beam" connects the tonearm mounting and the main hub bearing, ensuring they are held in a fixed, vibration-free relationship.
- RB3000 Tonearm: A masterpiece of engineering with zero-tolerance bearings adjusted to less than 1/1000th of a mm. It uses no adhesive at any joint, relying on precision machining to maintain structural integrity.
- Ceramic Oxide Platter: The platter is diamond-cut for perfect flatness and uses a "flywheel effect" design, where most of the mass is at the outer edge to maintain speed stability.
- P10 Custom PSU: An outboard power supply that uses a DSP (Digital Signal Processing) generator to create a near-perfect sine wave for the motor. Each PSU is factory-matched to its specific motor to minimize vibration.
