Rega Planar 6 RS

The Rega Planar 6 RS Edition ("Rega Special") bridges the gap between Rega’s traditional full-plinth turntables and their flagship, skeletal-plinth models like the Planar 8 and Planar 10. By taking components normally reserved for higher-tier decks and dropping them into a classic rectangular form factor, the RS Edition serves as the ultimate expression of Rega's full-body design philosophy.

• Upgraded RB880 Tonearm: Rather than the standard RB330 found on the base Planar 6, the RS Edition upgrades to the precision RB880 tonearm. It features an advanced stainless-steel vertical bearing housing, custom balance weight, and tighter tolerances to virtually eliminate mechanical friction and resonance points.
• Flagship Nd9 MM Cartridge: Comes pre-fitted with Rega’s top-of-the-line Nd9 moving magnet cartridge (or optionally an Ania MC). The Nd9 employs a ultra-stiff boron cantilever and a Fine Line nude diamond stylus—technology usually found on high-end moving coil cartridges—delivering incredible micro-detail and channel separation.
• Plinth & Brushed Metal Skin: The plinth uses a ultra-lightweight Tancast 8 polyurethane foam core (aerospace-grade material also used in the Planar 8/10), wrapped in a custom high-pressure laminate with a brushed aluminium skin finish and matching edge trim.
• Twin EBLT Drive System: Driven by a hand-tuned, 24-volt low-noise synchronous motor via a CNC-machined twin pulley using two Reference EBLT belts for increased drive-grip and lower wow and flutter.
• Neo MK2 External Power Supply: Includes the Neo MK2 PSU as standard, supplying DSP-generated clean power and offering seamless electronic speed changes between 33⅓ and 45 RPM with micro-pitch control.
