Here is a breakdown of what makes the A12MKII a standout:
Classic Power: It delivers 60 Watts per channel into 8 ohms and can double that to 120 Watts into 4 ohms. It uses a custom-built toroidal transformer, a Rotel hallmark that ensures "clean" power even during demanding musical passages.
Class AB Design: Unlike many modern digital (Class D) amps, the A12MKII uses a traditional Class AB circuit. This typically results in a smoother, more "natural" sound signature that many audiophiles prefer.
New DAC: It features a premium 32-bit/384kHz Texas Instruments DAC. This replaces the older Wolfson DAC and is largely responsible for the MKII's improved detail and wider soundstage.
