At its core, the RAS-5000 is built around Rotel’s massive, in-house manufactured toroidal transformer. This allows it to deliver stable, high-current power even into demanding speakers.

  • Amplification: It delivers 140 Watts per channel into 8 ohms (and 220 Watts into 4 ohms).
  • Class AB Design: Unlike many modern streaming amps that use Class D (which is more efficient but sometimes criticized for being "clinical"), the RAS-5000 uses Class AB for a warmer, more traditional high-fidelity sound.
  • DAC: It features a premium ESS Sabre 32-bit Digital-to-Analog Converter, ensuring high-resolution playback with very low distortion.
