Internal Architecture & Sound Quality
Unlike entry-level streamers that share power and processing on a single board, the SL1P focuses on electrical isolation to keep the signal "pure":
- Dedicated DAC Board: The internal DAC is housed in its own aluminum enclosure to shield it from electromagnetic interference (EMI) and power supply noise.
- Radar-Grade Power Supply: It uses a custom-designed, low-noise switching power supply to ensure stable power delivery without the "hum" or jitter often found in consumer electronics.
- EMI Shielding: The chassis is constructed of galvanized steel with a thick aluminum front panel, specifically designed to dampen vibrations and block external interference.
Versatile Connectivity
The SL1P is notable for offering a "complete" set of outputs, making it compatible with almost any setup:
- Analog Outputs: Both XLR Balanced and RCA Unbalanced outputs are available, allowing you to connect it directly to a power amplifier or active speakers.
- Digital Outputs: If you prefer to use your own high-end DAC, it provides Coaxial, TOSLINK (Optical), and a dedicated USB Audio output.
- Expansion: It includes an internal M.2 NVMe SSD slot (supporting up to 4TB), effectively turning the device into a local music server.
Software and Compatibility
The device runs on VitOS, a proprietary Linux-based operating system optimized specifically for audio tasks.
- Roon Ready: It is a certified Roon endpoint, allowing for seamless integration into the Roon ecosystem.
