Core Philosophy: The "Modular" Approach

Unlike cheaper, welded furniture, the S5 uses a modular design. This means the rack is held together by aluminum poles that screw into each other.

  • Vibration Control: Solidsteel fills these hollow aluminum tubes with damping material (like resonance-reducing foam) to ensure the rack doesn't "ring" like a bell while your music is playing.
  • Customization: Because it’s modular, you can actually swap out the bolt lengths to change the height between shelves if you buy a taller piece of gear later.

Key Features & Construction

The S5 is defined by its dual-shelf system, which is the primary upgrade over the S3 series.

  • Main Shelves : Made of 30mm thick MDF with a polymer laminate.
  • X-Shelf System :  A smaller "inner" shelf sits on top of the main shelf, supported by steel spikes. This creates two levels of decoupling for every component.
  • Material : Anodized aluminum pillars and stainless steel hardware.
  • Weight Capacity : Each shelf is rated for roughly 60 kg (132 lbs), making it sturdy enough for heavy tube amps.
