Product Description
Featuring the latest iteration of Hegel’s proprietary FET technology, the H20 power amplifier delivers a more rhythmic and articulate bass response. By eliminating harmonic echoes in the upper registers, it achieves a sophisticated balance of heightened detail and a smooth, organic sonic character.
The H20 is often described as having an "Organic Sound"—a term Hegel uses to describe a presentation that is natural, tonally neutral, and free of artificial "electronic" artifacts.
SoundEngine Technology: The H20 uses Hegel's patented SoundEngine modules. Unlike traditional amplifiers that use global negative feedback, SoundEngine uses a local, adaptive feed-forward design. It continuously compares the input and output signals, canceling out distortion in real-time. This results in a "blacker" background and more natural dynamics.
FET-Technology: The H20 incorporates a specific implementation of Field Effect Transistors (FETs) in the input stage. This is credited with providing a more rhythmic and articulated bass line, while also reducing "harmonic echoes" in higher frequencies for a smoother, more detailed sound.
Dual Mono Design: While housed in one chassis, the internal architecture is dual mono, with a massive 1000 VA transformer and 90,000 μF of capacitance, ensuring that each channel operates independently without crosstalk.
