The Monitor Audio Climate CL2 series represents the third generation (3G) of the company's premium, all-weather, wall-mountable loudspeakers. Designed to deliver high-fidelity audiophile sound "outside or in," these speakers are highly regarded for combining rugged durability with sleek, wire-free aesthetics.
Unlike typical outdoor speakers that sound thin or look clumsy, Monitor Audio built the CL2 line using technologies pulled directly from their high-end home hi-fi speakers.
- Premium Driver Tech: They feature Monitor Audio's signature C-CAM (Ceramic-Coated Aluminum Magnesium) drivers. The mid-bass unit uses their rigid RST II (Rigid Surface Technology) dimpled cone for clarity, while the 1-inch dome tweeter is uniquely anodized in a deep matte black to blend seamlessly with the baffle.
- Auxiliary Bass Radiator (ABR): Outdoor environments cause low-end bass frequencies to "evaporate." To counter this without cutting a traditional port hole (which would invite water and pests), the CL2 features a large rear-facing passive radiator. When mounted against a wall, it leverages the boundary to deliver tight, punchy bass down to 42Hz.
- The "Quik-Link" Bracket System: This is a massive favorite among custom installers. You screw a heavy-duty, die-cast aluminum bracket to the wall and wire the speaker cables into the bracket itself. When you slide the speaker onto the mount, it completes the electrical connection automatically—leaving no exposed wires to rot in the weather.
